The Research, Publication and Technology Transfer Directorate Office issued a call for research projects on October 10, 2022 G.C., inviting the academic and research staff to submit research proposals based on UOK’s research thematic areas and compete for the grant opportunities the university provides. The submitted projects were examined at college level and approved for further evaluation by professionals related to the numerous disciplines that made up the proposed research topics.
Following this, experts from three universities in the eastern cluster—namely, Dire Dawa University, Haramaya University, and Jigjiga University—were invited for review. They, along with our staff, evaluated the proposed projects in accordance with UOK’s proposal evaluation criteria, which include scientific soundness, methodology, focus, contribution, achievabilty, and other criterias. After two days of continuous presentations and defense, this year’s annual research proposal review and evaluation was successfully completed. The RPTT Directorate will soon and officially post the proposals approved for funding in this academic year (2015 E.C).

We also appreciate the commitment of our own experts, staff, and facilitators in enhancing the quality of the overall performance of UOK.
